About The Hazelmere
The Hazelmere was founded in 1984 by Ian and Dorothy Stubley. Over the years, we have grown from being a tiny tearoom into what we are today. Although our team has grown, we remain as dedicated and enthusiastic as ever. Dorothy’s enthusiasm for tea as propelled the business to become award-winning and has enabled The Hazelmere’s sister company, Dorothy’s Teas, to be born in 2019.
In 1984, our philosophy was to help support the local community and to be sustainable to the environment which we still uphold today. All our ingredients are locally sourced, we donate surplus bread to Manna House homeless charity in Kendal, our oil and cardboard is recycled, our carrier bags are biodegradable and our premises are lit using energy-efficient LED lighting.
